About our Bel Air South insulation company
Bel Air South Spray Foam Insulation is an insulation contractor in Bel Air South, MD. We work in homes where families already live, and we're best known for attic air sealing, closing the gaps where house air slips out, and insulation done in the right order.

How I ended up insulating lived-in houses
I started out insulating new houses for builders, where nobody lives yet and every wall is wide open. After a few years I wanted to work in homes where families already live, so in 2017 I started Bel Air South Spray Foam Insulation here in Bel Air South.
Lived-in houses taught me that every attic, wall and crawl space has its own story, usually written by a few owners and a couple of weekend projects. So I look carefully before I quote anything. Yard drainage is poor in plenty of Harford County, so I check basements and crawl spaces for damp before we cover anything up.
Folks call us when the upstairs runs hot, the room over the garage stays cold or the power bill looks too high, and some call before a bigger project so it gets planned right. I like it when people understand their house a little better after we've left. Our home page lists everything we do.
What it's like having us in your house
Most of what sets us apart shows up before anyone climbs into your attic, and in how the day goes once they do. Here's what you can expect from me and our crew.
We seal first, then insulate
Fresh insulation laid over the gaps around can lights, pipes and the attic hatch ends up fighting a draft. So our crew closes those gaps first and insulates second, and you actually feel the difference you're paying for in the rooms upstairs.
I come out myself
I'm the one who looks at your attic, walls or crawl space and talks it through with you. You'll hear how many inches are already up there, what shape they're in and what I'd do about it, all in plain words, before you decide anything.
Sometimes the answer is less
If a smaller job, or no job at all, makes more sense for your house, we'll tell you so. I'd rather point you to the one fix worth doing than sell you a whole attic of insulation that won't change how the house feels.
Planned around a lived-in house
We work in homes where people are cooking, napping and working from the kitchen table, so we keep the dust contained and plan the day around your family. Before we start, we'll talk through which rooms we need and where the kids and pets can be.
Licensing and insurance for insulation work in Maryland
Maryland's Home Improvement Commission requires a license from every contractor who sells or does home improvement work on a house, even one licensed in another state. We're licensed and fully insured, so ask that of anyone you compare.
- Response time
We get back to you within one business day.
What happens after you call us
Here's how a job goes with us, from your first call to the walk-through at the end. The schedule usually turns on whether a permit is needed and whether another trade has to come in first.
Call or send the form
Call (410) 836-5406 or fill out our contact form and tell us what's bugging you, whether it's a hot upstairs, cold floors or a power bill that seems too high. We get back to you within one business day to set up a time for me to come out.
I look and explain
I come to your house, climb into the attic or crawl space and show you what I find. The price usually turns on how much sealing the house needs, what's already up there and which material fits, and the estimate is free, done on site and comes with no obligation.
Permits and other trades
Before work starts, I check with the office that covers your address, whether that's Harford County, Baltimore County or a city like Aberdeen. If a permit is needed, we take care of it, and if the job turns up electrical, plumbing or heating work, we bring in a licensed trade for that part.
The work and walk-through
Our installers do the work, and I check in on it along the way. When they're done, I walk through the finished job with you, so you can see what changed in your attic, walls or crawl space and why it was done that way.
